Being a Squirrel
Squirrels is for young people aged 4–6. It’s the very beginning of the Scouting adventure – full of play, discovery, and big smiles.
Squirrels meet regularly to try new things, get creative, explore the world around them, and make wonderful friends. It’s a warm, welcoming space where little ones can grow in confidence.
Activities
Each session is packed with age-appropriate fun – from nature trails and den building to arts and crafts and simple team games. Everything is designed to spark curiosity and build early skills.
Squirrel Awards
Squirrels earn their first badges as they try new activities and complete simple challenges. Every badge is a celebration of something new they’ve discovered!
Moving Up to Beavers
When Squirrels turn 6, they move up to Beavers – the next step in their Scouting journey.
Uniform and Badge Placement
Squirrels wear a red sweatshirt. There’s no pressure to have a uniform straight away – once settled in, they’ll start collecting their very first badges!
