Being a Cub
Cubs is for young people aged 8–10½. It’s where big adventures begin – full of activities, friendships, and challenges.
Cubs go on days out and sleepovers, try new activities, earn badges, and take part in community events. It’s a fantastic way to grow in confidence and make great friends.
Activities
From arts and crafts to outdoor adventures, Cubs do it all. No two meetings are the same – there’s always something new to try, learn, or build.
Cub Awards
Cubs earn badges across a huge range of skills – from cooking and science to first aid and sports. The top award is the Chief Scout’s Silver Award.
The Cub Promise
When they join Cubs, young people make the Cub Promise – a commitment to do their best, be kind, and look after the world around them.
Moving Up to Scouts
When Cubs reach 10½, they move up to Scouts – where even bigger adventures await.
Uniform and Badge Placement
Cubs wear a green uniform. You don’t need a uniform to join, but once you’ve settled in you’ll start earning badges to wear with pride.
