Being a Beaver
Beavers is for young people aged 6–8. It’s where the adventure starts – with games, crafts, and making great friends.
As a Beaver, you’ll try new things every week, explore the outdoors, get creative, and start earning badges. It’s fun, friendly, and the perfect introduction to Scouting.
Activities
Beavers explore the outdoors, get creative with crafts, play games, go on trips, and take part in community activities – all in a safe, welcoming environment.
Beaver Awards
Beavers earn activity badges by trying new things and completing challenges. The top award is the Chief Scout’s Bronze Award.
The Beaver Promise
Beavers make their own promise when they’re ready – a simple commitment to be kind, help others, and be part of the Scouting family.
Moving Up to Cubs
When Beavers turn 8, they move up to Cubs – where even more adventures and challenges await!
Uniform and Badge Placement
Beavers wear a turquoise sweatshirt. You don’t need a uniform to join – once you’ve settled in, you’ll start earning badges to wear with pride.
